In general

KK Hiperion is a sports association founded in 1986, and registered in the professional association in 1987. Since then, it has been operating in the eastern part of Maksimir Park, and currently takes care of about 15 school and sport horses. Since its founding, KK Hiperion has placed emphasis on the education of young horses and riders, and we can proudly point out that in the past period we have achieved a number of notable sports results in show jumping, long-distance and military riding.

In cooperation with the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Zagreb, we continuously provide professional education for students of the said faculty, and now we are in the process of creating conditions for the implementation of therapeutic riding programs for children with disabilities.

In 1990 and 1991, we successfully taught the cadets of the police cavalry unit.

KK Hyperion is proud of the fact that on our horses the Alkars rode the Alka in 1990 because at that time the Knights of the Alkar Society was banned by the JNA, and that these same horses were on 15.1.1992. brought the Croatian flag to Ban Jelačić Square as part of a ceremony celebrating the official recognition and independence of Croatia from Yugoslavia by the European Union. At that time, the members of the club were Major General Ante Zorislav Roso and Colonel Imra Agotić.

The KK Hyperion program, accepted by the relevant Ministry, under the leadership of the Faculty of Kinesiology, implemented a program of education of staff in equestrian sports in June 1991 at the Olympic Center Bjelolasica.

Under the auspices of the City of Zagreb for 4 years in a row (1992-1995), KK Hyperion successfully organized the Croatian Equestrian Parliament and hosted all the names important for equestrian sports, and several thousand visitors expressed interest in it. The Croatian Equestrian Parliament was conceived as an exhibition of all horses, regardless of breed, value, purpose, and the first was held in 1992 in Maksimir, with 180 horses participating. The festival was gradually enriched, for example, by judging horses, holding tournaments, performing four-wheelers, an art colony, and exhibiting paintings.

The first competition was organized in 1993 in Umag, where it was held for the next five years and had the status of an ATP tennis tournament. In 2001 it was held in Sinj, and in 2004 in Ilok. In Zagreb in Maksimir on May 1, 2007, the military riding competition was a big sporting event that gathered 35,000 spectators who enthusiastically cheered on 36 riders from Germany, Austria and one from Croatia along the path through the Maksimir forest, and a recording of the competition was shown on Eurosport -in the next three years.

According to the KK Hyperion program, the Croatian Equestrian Federation has established a long-distance riding discipline. The first long-distance riding competition was organized by KK Hyperion, and was held in 2006 in Barban, Istria, and since then the development has been unstoppable.

When it comes to humanitarian events, the unforgettable theater play “Knight Juraj” was organized in 1989 in Maksimir by KK Hyperion for children from the Home in Nazorova and in which famous actors performed: Bobi Marotti, and in the role of a knight on horseback Duško Valentić. KK Hyperion organized equestrian events with the aim of popularizing equestrian sports: Zagreb (NK Trnje playground), Berek municipality, Levanjska varoš (near Đakovo), Umag, Pula, Žminj, Sinj, Barban, Medulin …
